Composing a guest list for your kid's birthday party would seem to be a right forward process. After all, you're just sharp family members and your child's close friend's right? Well, there are some further factors that you should take into consideration before slapping together any old guest list.

The Cost Factor
Every further guest you add increases the cost of the party. Before you know it the tab can add up pretty quickly! You should try to break down the total cost of the party per guest and use that as a guide to limit your expenses.

For example, let's say that with food, party favors, game prizes, invitations, and everything else the cost per guest comes out to . If you have a budget that means you can ask ten people. If you expect a large turnout, it's probably a good idea to look for ways to drive that cost per guest down.

The Personality Factor
Let's face it... Some people are just no fun to be around! Don't hesitate to exclude people from the guest list who will drag the other guests down. The purpose of a birthday party is to celebrate and have fun! If one of the guests is going to spoil it for everyone else, exclude them. It's true that some people actually are the life of the party, and those traits start to show at an early age!

Sometimes people just don't get along. Try to be aware of any potential personality conflicts before organizing the guest list. Remember, the party is supposed to be Fun for your children. The last thing you want to do is make them feel awkward nearby someone they don't like.

You should probably contain your child in the planning process so they can clue you in about potential issues. Specific planning now will ensure that your child's party is a success later!

21st Birthday - Time to Party Hard!

So you're turning 21. You're an adult now. You could drive and marry and now you can do an additional one adult thing - have a beer. It's the starting of a new phase in your life. No more fake Ids torn up by disbelieving bouncers or cynical bartenders. The party's only just starting and you know it. A word of caution before you begin to plan your big day - make sure that any under age party guests do not get passage to alcohol at your party or you could be in serious trouble. Also ensure that you or your guests are not driving home after sharp alcohol that night.
Ok, now let's get back to planning a 21th birthday party. Make sure there are abundance of drinks and snacks to go around, get a big shiny disco ball, some great music and make space for dancing. A good drink idea is to have a big punch bowl and fill it up with potent liquid. an additional one drinking idea is to have jelly shooters, which are basically flavoured jell-o with half vodka, half water in the mix. You can pick a wild theme like 70's flower children or slick 21st century urban club scene - the wilder the better! Make it even more fun by giving away small prizes for the best and worst dressed!
Remember to ask abundance of guests, because you only turn 21 once. Your 21st birthday is an opportunity you'll look back on fondly in the years to come.
