The first thing to think when purchasing a hard drive for your gaming Pc is what type to get. The two main choices that we will think are serial Ata and parallel Ata, or Sata and Pata. Pata drives are also called Ide drives. Sata drives are recommended plainly because they are more industrialized than Ide drives. However, they are also more costly than Ide drives.

Some of the aspects of the Sata drive are beneficial to the personel installing them, and others will benefit you as a user. Sata drives have less pins and longer cables, as well as only one jumper. This will make the drive easier to join together and setup within the computer. Sata drives are also faster than Ide drives, with Sata Ii drives transferring upwards of 300Mb per second of data. Ide drives replacement anywhere from 5Mb to 133Mb per second.
