The Raptor line of 10,000 rpm Sata drives was introduced in 2003, and quickly became a hit with the high-performance gaming enthusiast.

Other Makers - The equilibrium of the hard drive shop contains customary names such as Hitachi, Maxtor, Toshiba, Samsung, and Fujitsu. Each of these manufacturers provides a well-respected product, with Maxtor the only real competition in this group for the desk-top market.
